Club Info

Welcome to the Web Site of the Amateur Radio Club based in Croydon known as SRCC - Surrey Radio Contact Club. We are one of the oldest Clubs in the area, having been founded in 1935.  We currently have a membership of arround 60 and meet twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Mondays (except when there are Bank Holidays - see "Meeting Calendar").  Meetings are held at: the Jubilee Room, St Pauls United Reform Church, Croham Park Avenue, South Croydon, CR2 7HF.

The 1st meeting of the month ("1st meeting") is the main meeting when we have visiting speakers, surplus equipment sales, construction contests, etc. Some talks may be non-technical, e.g. local history. Members’ requests of what talks would be of interest is always considered.  The 2nd meeting of the month ("2nd meeting") is a lot more informal being a natter night, fix-it evening, "Move-It-On", etc.

All meetings start at 7.45pm with a mid-evening tea/coffee break. We make no charge for attending the meetings and it costs only a minimum of £10.00 a year for membership, which includes a monthly Newsletter. However, voluntary contributions above this will be gratefully received.

Other activities include attendance at the annual CATS Bazaar, VHF NFD contest every July, Special Event stations, other contests, and a Club Dinner and/or summer barbeque. Our club also recognises personal and technical efforts by annual presentation of trophies and certificates.

SRCC encourages development of construction and subsequent testing skills by annual provision of simple, useful, affordable, achievable projects provided as kits, for building/testing on specified meetings in the club calendar.

We are an Affiliated Society of the Radio Society of Great Britain (RSGB) and adhere to the RSGB Child Protection Policy.

You will be more than welcome to attend a meeting or two and join in before making up your mind.

This website has copies of our Newsletter, details of forthcoming meetings, and a link to a map to find us, etc. Use the menu at the top of the page to explore further.

Trust this will be of interest to you and we look forward to welcoming you at a forthcoming meeting.
